When 60 Dorrance was built in 1902 for the Providence Union Trust Bank, it was ornately embellished to draw the eye from various parts of Providence. The ground floor was designed with large windows, which transparently conveyed its status as a trustworthy bank without secrets.

This intervention raises the concept of opulent transparency to the roof through the addition of a glass volume on top of the building that acts as a visual magnet.
